Mrs. Harkins' 5th grade science class created food webs. We have been learning the role of producers, consumers and decomposers as well as how the sun's energy helps producers make their own food. 5th grade rocked this activity!!

Congratulations LMS Golden Tornado Band for earning Sweepstakes at UIL Concert & Sight Reading Contest!! All judges gave them a Division 1 (Superior) rating in both Concert Performance and Sight Reading performance. This is the first Sweepstakes in over a decade!

Tornado Spotlight! Please help us recognize Elisa Benitez, North Elementary Teacher and Coach, for her hard work and dedication to our district! Thank you for all that you do! 🌪


Based on the Governor's Executive Order and a LISD staff survey, the Lamesa ISD School Board voted, 7-0, that masks be optional beginning on Wednesday, October 10th.


Mrs. Benitez’s Class took advantage of the warm temps, yesterday, and had class out in the courtyard! We classified 2-D shapes and looked around outside for different shapes and put them into groups based on the number of sides they had and their different angles.


Great things are happening at Lamesa ISD! LHS is a national finalist for this year’s College Success Gold Award, which celebrates schools that have a multiyear track record of preparing students to succeed in college!

Mercades Maldonado - Placed 5th in Region 1-3A in the 148lb Weight Division Jocelyn Marroquin - Tied for 1st Place in Region 1-3A in the 114lb Weight Division
Tatum Bermea - Placed 1st in Region 1-3A in the 198lb Weight Division & 2nd Overall at Regionals
Alyiah Rivera - Placed 2nd in Region 1-3A in the 259lb Weight Division & 4th Overall at Regionals
Yanari Martinez - Placed 1st in Region 1-3A in the 259+lb Weight Division & 2nd Overall at Regionals
The girls placed 5th Overall out of 51 teams that attended the meet!
We had 4 girls that qualified for STATE. Jocelyn Marroquin, Tatum Bermea, Alyiah Rivera & Yanari Martinez
The state meet will be held in Corpus Christi on Thursday, March 18th 2021!

G.I.R.L. Squad met today to make signs for the Book Drive they are doing as a Service Project for Drop Everything And Read day in April. They are so excited!!


It was a great day in 2nd grade! Mrs. Barron’s and Ms. McCullough’s classes learned the basic needs in science with a little help from Dr. Seuss.
