The Lamesa ISD Board of Trustees has officially approved the 2025-2026 District Calendar, which includes a transition to a 4-day school week.
This change is possible due to a shift in TEA requirements from counting school days to measuring instructional minutes, allowing districts greater flexibility while ensuring students receive the same amount of instructional time.
We understand this transition may bring many questions, and we are committed to finding solutions to support our students and families. Our focus includes providing meal options on Fridays and identifying safe places for students to go for families who need childcare.
We appreciate your patience and support as we work to make this transition as smooth as possible. We know other obstacles will exist. Our goal is to learn from the other 115 school districts that have done this before us, so please be patient as we come up with the best plan for Lamesa ISD.
